Spencer Village Food Court, Perth

This is Spencer Village Food Court, located at 200 Spencer Road, Thornlie, Perth WA. This is my first food review in this blog, so don’t bitch.

Spencer Village

This is the inside view of Spencer Village. There are basically lots of seats, enough to cater for hundreds of patrons.

Pokka Green Tea

This is what we had for drinks, bought from Panda Cafe near the entrance. The good old Pokka Green Tea, never too sweet or too bland. Healthy (I believe), and is reasonably priced at AUD$1.70 (there was a 20 cents increase recently, I noticed).

Curry Laksa

Curry Laksa from Penang Cuisine. Not Sarawakian version of Laksa, definitely. Comes with a mixture of yellow noodle and vermicelli unless instructed otherwise. Springy noodles, not too spicy (mild), lack of ingredients. Measly amount of chicken pieces and two (2) pieces of prawns were found in the curry. The sambal (chilli) was good though. Price increased by 30 cents to AUD$6.80, I believe. Still reasonably priced. L, my girlfriend, didn’t quite like her meal, so we agreed to swap our food.

Two Meat Combination Rice

The Two Meat Combination Rice from Penang Cuisine is definitely not as tasty when compared to any local Malaysian hawker stall, but still good for Perth’s standard. The BBQ Pork tasted great, but the Roasted Pork seemed to lack that extra something. The rice was alright and the best thing about the chicken rice is the chilli. Priced at AUD$7.20, I believe. Not too bad for its price due to its large serving. L seemed to enjoy this more than her Curry Laksa.

Chicken Feet

We decided to have a try of Fook Kee’s Chicken Feet, priced at AUD$4.50. Large serving, huge feet, and we both liked it. We still prefer the spicy versions of Chicken Feet though. This one was the salty type.

Kuih

These are assorted Kuihs (Malaysian term for Cake) home-made by Straits Cuisine, besides their other Kuihs such as Siew Pao, Ham Chee Peng, and more. The Kuihs were nothing much to shout about. Not exactly the same as the real deal in Malaysia, but still not bad and reasonably priced at around AUD$3.50.

Soya Bean

I had an extra cup of medium-sized Soya Bean drink priced at $2 from Panda Cafe. I believe they made the Soya Bean themselves. Tasted pretty healthy, although I prefer it sweeter. Panda Cafe also sell other local Malaysian desserts and drinks and also bubble tea, including Chendol, Ice Kacang, and even Durian Smoothie.

Spencer Village Food Court opens Wednesdays to Sundays, and there are currently 12 food stalls operating, not including Panda Cafe.
