I found it outside work a couple of nights ago. Thought it was interesting, so here are the photos from my N95 :)

Monkey the Bird

Monkey the Bird

Hi! My name is Monkey and I’m a bird! Nice to meet you. Raymond is too busy working to earn money, so I’m here to blog on his behalf. He’ll be back as soon as possible. Don’t I just look so cool? Admit it. I do, and don’t say no because I bite.

Have a good day!

“I Love my Job”

July 22, 2008 | Filed Under Announcement, Gibberish, Observation, Rough Times, Thoughts, Work | 3 Comments

Only a few days of lazily written entries and I noticed that my stats have dropped drastically. I guess this is the price to pay when I had decided that this blog become my (amateur) photography cum personal life cum ranting space (not a very good mix when not done properly). But I really shouldn’t complain, as I still have loyal readers who comment on my postings on a frequent basis such as Hwey and Deng, Shan, Feng, Jason, ehon, Clem, Neo and even Lilian. Thanks guys for keeping me motivated to continue blogging on a not-so-daily basis.

Another day, another entry for me to ramble on about my job. Pardon the misleading title of this post, I am merely restating what my colleagues have been saying about me (without my knowledge, of course) - “He seem to really love this job”.

I would have taken it as a compliment, but knowing that people are actually saying it behind my back, this goes to show that it is being seen as a negative thing. Only people like Shan (a manager in the food industry) would probably see it in a positive light, I guess. But why on mother Earth would your colleagues who are supposedly your friends see such a thing as something negative? Are they in fear of their job security, that I will “rob” them of their positions with my supposed “passion” for my job? Or perhaps being such a person with a positive, cheery mood at work puts them off to bad mood?

I had proposed a couple of solutions for myself to tackle this new-found problem at work that I’m facing:

  1. The Reversal Method
    - Title says it all: Reversing my positive, cheery facade and channeling all my negative aura to my face. This method has yet to be tested and probability of success is unknown, but chances of losing my job is exponentially increased with more negative aura. Although I am very much tempted to test this method, I dare not risk my sole income at this stage in time.

  2. The IgnoRaythod™
    - I’m sure many have heard of the phrase, “Ignorance is bliss”. This is an example of when you can apply this method. It has been tested and the probability of success is high. Chances of losing my job is on all-time low and chances of promotion is all-time high.

  3. And more.

As to the statement of where I “love” my job, I hereby openly announce to the whole world that I really, really, really hate my job despite the cheery, positive facade that I have been putting on. The reasons of such dedication and positive outlook for me at work is:

Think about it - why would a perfectly normal person like you and me love a job which you only earn enough to survive on (weekly), and still isn’t enough for yourself to lead a completely liveable life by yourself, more to say your other half? One cannot simply judge another by how they carry themself, anywhere. Just because I’m good with appearing happy doesn’t necessarily imply that I’m a happy person. It’s akin saying that your cat is horny when it rubs itself against you. No, your cat is not horny. You are the horny one to suggest such implication on it.

In short to this lengthy rambling, mind your own fucking business while I mind mine.

Thanks for reading and have a good week while I continue slaving myself for more moolahs to pay off my bills, cars, uni books/carpark, and life :)

Bummer

Meet Elvis

Elvis is laughing at me

There are more and more work colleagues in my Facebook profile, and I actually went on to add a few more a while ago. Looks like I’ll have to cut down on my workplace ramblings from now onwards or start a new censoring method just like Malaysia’s censorship (ie. heavy) before the people I bitch about gets me I get into trouble at work.

Heck, even one of the managers have a Facebook account! What has come to the world today? :(

Have a great weekend guys.

p.s. NO, I did not add the manager.

Today’s Horoscope (Scorpio)

June 8, 2008 | Filed Under Gibberish, Work | Leave a Comment

scorpio Todays Horoscope (Scorpio) It’s not a day to sit around the house, even if you intend to relax. Get outside and do something fun, like going to the beach, taking a walk or even going shopping. But don’t think you’ll be totally satisfied with meaningless distractions. For real happiness today, find an activity that engages your mind with the deeper questions of life.

Yeah, I think today I’ll stick to this question while I “get outside and do something fun”: I wonder how I’m supposed to make this salad?

I so can’t wait to gain this “real happiness”. Have a great Sunday.

My Nightmare

April 7, 2008 | Filed Under Gibberish | 3 Comments

I woke up at 7.30 this morning, then went back to sleep in the hope of waking up at 10am to get in time to a lecture. Of course, I didn’t wake up on time for lecture. I got up at 12.30pm instead, thanks to the stupid nightmare I had.

It was one hell of a nightmare. The story goes like this. I have three Firefox(es) in my laptop, namely Firefox 2, Firefox 3 beta 4 and Firefox 3 beta 5. In my dream, I lost all three Firefox(es) in my desktop, also in my Quick Launch shortcut. I only had an Internet Explorer (IE) icon in my Quick Launch. Yuck.

It woke me up on an instant and the first thing I did when I woke up was to check to see if that really happened. Thank God it wasn’t real.

Tell me now - is that scary or what?

Manual Mode

April 3, 2008 | Filed Under Gibberish, Photography | Leave a Comment

After screwing up a batch of baptism photos yesterday, I am vowing to start taking more pictures using manual mode from today onwards. To be honest, I have yet to really make full use of the manual mode of my D60 since I had gotten it.

The modes I had been using were Aperture Priority (Av) and Shutter Priority (Tv) modes. But now, no more Av. No more Tv. Had enough of them already.

No more no-brainer bounced flashes. What’s the point of bouncing to the 5m high ceiling with a SB-400 for subjects who are 5m away from me? Direct would have been much better. Seriously need to give myself a good belting. *belts*

Thank you for reading.

ps. I can’t pronounce Queer, but I might be going over to campus tomorrow to cover a Cross Campus Queer Games event (where four local uni queers come together to participate in some games) for the next issue’s METIOR, our university’s Guild Student magazine. Provided if I wake up on time =P
