The Chronicles of Narnia - Prince Caspian
June 20, 2008 | Filed Under Movies | Leave a Comment
Prince Caspian is a 140 minutes fantasy film which was adapted from C.S. Lewis’ children’s fantasy series, the Chronicles of Narnia. After having to watch the first film of the three, “the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe”, I had expected a lot from this second film.
Unfortunately, I must have expected too much from the movie. The four protagonists in the movie, or should I refer to them as “kids”, are nothing more but “kids” to me. Their acting appeared weak in the movie, especially in the first half of the movie. They failed miserably to convince me that they are the legendary “Kings and Queens” in Narnia.
On the other hand, the special effects are commendable, and location-wise, it was pretty aptly chosen for the scenes. The opening scene somewhat reminded me of Harry Potter, probably due to its train effect.
In terms of the plot, I was taken for a surprise when there was actually a twist in the middle of the movie, as I was expecting something more straight-forward for a Disney movie. However, that twist was killed by its ending war sequence that was far too short, like as though the producers were trying to cut down on their production costs or something.
Overall, it was a fun movie to watch with your family and friends, especially if there’s a little one aged 12 and under.
L gives this movie a miserable 3/10 (though she seemed to love every single bit of the movie), while being the much generous me, I give Prince Caspian an average 6/10. This means you can choose to watch this only if you have nothing better to watch.

1990 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo GA70
June 18, 2008 | Filed Under Photography, Thoughts | 6 Comments
Yeap, that’s my 1990 Toyota Supra GA70 GT. I’ve been wanting to take a proper photoshoot of it, but never got the chance to do that. Perhaps I shall have one in this coming week. These shots were taken quite a while back now.
It’s a 4-speed automatic, nothing fancy has been done to it other than a 12″ Pioneer subwoofer with enclosure, cat back sports exhaust, K&N air filter, new set of tyres (that was last year) and apparently the engine has been replaced too.
My brother got it for me from a private seller last September as an advanced birthday present (so he says), and it has served me well since. Some problems here and there, but nothing that couldn’t be fixed. I’ve yet to dent the car or got into any accidents with it, and nor am I keen to get into one.
The reason I blogged about my car today is because I’ve been experiencing extra vibration from the steering wheel everytime the car reaches ~100km/h and it becomes worse when it gets to ~120km/h. I figured that the wheels probably needs some realignment, so I’m heading to the nearest tyre workshop and hopefully it wouldn’t cost a bomb.
If it’s not the wheel alignment, I just can’t think of anything else.

Where to Download Firefox 3 Final?
June 18, 2008 | Filed Under Announcement | 4 Comments
I’m currently downloading using Firefox 3.0 Final with my 64kbps speed which I downloaded at this website (link removed). There doesn’t seem to be much difference when compared to Firefox 3 RC3 although it does appear to feel much more stable. Have you downloaded yours?
I just came back from the the cinema after watching The Chronicles of Narnia - Prince Caspian, so expect a movie review coming up. Have a lovely week ahead =)
EDIT: I downloaded Firefox 3.0 AGAIN HERE (it’s a big deal cause I’m still browsing at 64kbps) to make sure that I participated in breaking the world record today.

The Virgin Girl
June 17, 2008 | Filed Under Humour | 2 Comments
It’s Download Day for Firefox 3, but I have yet to update my Firefox 3 RC 3 because it appears that there’s still no update at this time. Perhaps a little while later.
My updates have been going slower these couple of days because:
- I get turned off by the speed of my connection, peak AND off-peak hours. The speed is currently shaped to 64kbps because the download/upload quota of 20GB peak & off-peak is exceeded and there are three more days before the quota resets on the 20th. I so can’t wait to do a proper update.
- I’m all work, work, work, work and work. I get a couple of days off a week, but that is not really enough time for me to sleep and catch up on blogs.
Anyway, since it’s still the beginning of the week, I’ve decided to post this passe joke which I found somewhere in the realms of the WWW.
The Virgin Girl
A virgin girl is on the phone and asks her boyfriend to come
over and have dinner with her parents. Since this is such a
big event, the girl announces to her boyfriend that
after dinner, she would like to go out and make love
for the first time.
* * * * * * * * *
Well, the boy is ecstatic, but he has never had sex
before, so he takes a trip to the pharmacist to get
some condoms. He tells the pharmacist it’s his first time and
the pharmacist helps the boy for about an hour.
He tells the boy everything there is to know about condoms and
sex.
* * * * * * * * *
At the register, the pharmacist asks the boy how many
condoms he’d like to buy, a 3-pack, 10-pack, or family
pack. The boy insists on the family pack because he
thinks he will be rather busy, it being his first time and all.
* * * * * * * * *
That night, the boy shows up at the girl’s parents
house and meets his girlfriend at the door. “Oh, I’m
so excited for you to meet my parents, come on in!”
* * * * * * * * *
The boy goes inside and is taken to the dinner table
where the girl’s parents are seated. The boy quickly
offers to say grace and bows his head.
* * * * * * * * *
A minute passes, and the boy is still deep in prayer,
with his head down.
* * * * * * * * *
10 minutes pass, and still no movement from the boy.
* * * * * * * * *
Finally, after 20 minutes with his head down, the
girlfriend leans over and whispers to the
boyfriend, “I had no idea you were this religious.”
* * * * * * * *
The boy turns, and whispers back, “I had no idea your
father was a pharmacist.”
* * * * * * * * *
Have a good week ahead! =)

10 Reasons Why Firefox 3 is Better Than Firefox 2
June 14, 2008 | Filed Under General | 2 Comments

After blogging on the release date of Firefox 3 yesterday, I was asked to compile reasons why Firefox 3 is worth upgrading and better than Firefox 2, so I had come up with this list.
Why Firefox 3 is Better Than Firefox 2:
- Auto Complete URL has been revamped.
- the auto-complete URL bar is now “smarter” than before, remembering visited pages and also bookmarked pages when you’re typing in the URL. - Zooming in is much better in Firefox 3.
- instead of just zooming in on the texts, you get to zoom in on the whole layout of the page in the browser. - Password manager is not cluttering your view in FF3.
- it sits on the top of the browser and still loads the page while you can choose to save the password for a particular page. - Ability to resume and pause downloads.
- self-explanatory. FF2 doesn’t have this feature. - Resize location bars.
- self-explanatory. - New “star” bookmark.
- makes it easier to bookmark a page. A star is visible on the location bar and clicking on it once will auto-bookmark the page you’re on while clicking it again will enable you to rename the bookmark and add tags. - Use ctrl (command key in Mac) to select multiple text from different parts of a page.
- easier to quote articles. Basically similar to copying different files from your computer, but in this case, texts. - Ability to save sessions.
- you can choose to save a session and quit the browser when you have multiple tabs opened. - Smart bookmarks.
- a bookmark that compiles the “most visited” pages and “recently bookmarked” pages allows easy access to your favourite websites on the go. - Less memory usage.
- self-explanatory.
Bookmark your calendar and get ready to break the world record this coming Tuesday, 17 June! =)

I was catching up on my feeds this morning whilst doing the *cough*big business*cough* in the toilet and I noticed that Google Reader Mobile has been improved on my N95 had been revamped to a completely different look.

Main Page

Reading the Obnoxious 5xmom’s feed
The new design is cleaner and looks more stylish compared to the older one, and this one seems to be easier to read too. Two thumbs up to Google! To access Google Reader Mobile, point your phone browser to http://www.google.com/reader/m
