(Edit) 52mm HOYA Circular Polarising Filter on its way

June 24, 2008 | Filed Under Accessories/Equipment, Confessional, Photography

Another one of those Confessional entries. I’ve just won the bid for the 52mm Circular Polarising Filter in eBay. The price including shipping is AUD$28.50. A brand new one costs close to AUD$80 in Harvey Norman (I checked today).

Then again, I sort of regretted getting the 3 year-old filter where I could have gotten a brand new one from HK for the same price. That’s for not checking properly. And that’s a AUD$30 lesson to learn.

EDIT: There was a mistake by the seller of the polariser that I won in eBay and the seller agreed to cancel the purchase. After sorting out the issue, I purchased a brand new 52mm HOYA Circular Polarising Filter for AUD$27. The item is located in HK, so it might take a couple of weeks before it arrives. Well, looks like I wasn’t ripped off after all =)

    Don’t worry, I am sure you can do wonders with the filter.

    Hi again! I have a question! I know I can google it but I am lazy. What’s a cacographer? :P

    @cheahwey - Hi, I edited your html code because I think you must have been in a rush to write the comment. Yes to your question, but his filter is worth at least twice as much as mine. So quality-wise, B+W might be better, although HOYA is actually quite good.

    @Jasmine - Thanks! I sure hope so :)

    @Elaine - Hi Elaine, cacographer means somebody with a horrible handwriting. And that person would be me =)

    “Hi Elaine :) I prefer warmer photos, but this looks good too =)”

    I tried making it warm…it was reddish brown and strange :P I will take other pictures after my exams since I have one day of autumn before I return to Malaysia. ^^
