The Confessional

This is my first confessional entry.

The last time I had actually used my D60 for a shoot was a favour for my brother’s friends. That was close to two weeks ago now.
I have yet to make any effort to hone my photography skills for almost a month now. I can’t explain why.
I want to get out of the house tomorrow for a good shoot. I had been lazy.
I haven’t been blogging properly for.. almost 2 months now. I am still lazy.
I haven’t played badminton because I’ve been broke. And that’s a mortal sin.
I’m broke. So broke that I have nothing in my wallet and I have 50km to go before my car goes dead on me. So I get jealous whenever i read others’ blogs when they keep ranting on what they have.
So I started playing The Longest Journey on PC, and Metal Gear Solid 3 - Snake Eater on PS2. Which doesn’t help me get out of the house to do productive things.
My phone is suspended. I owe people money.
I fought with L today. Twice. And was partly my fault. But all is fine now.
I need to stop being such a lazy ass, but it’s always easier said than done.

Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 is Good?

I’m really impressed with the performance of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1, so impressed that I’m actually currently using this browser to type this entry. Browsing is smooth and fast, and other than some texts not displaying correctly in certain pages, there are no issue at all. I fixed the text display issue by “emulating” IE7 browser, basically to change IE8’s look to IE7’s.

I still can’t believe how fast the pages load. Compared to Firefox, I must say that some pages such as Facebook load much faster than my Firefox 3 Beta 5. And this is only IE8’s first beta.

Impressive. Do have a go with IE8 and tell me how did it go.

Ps. For the record, I’ll still stick with Firefox and use IE8 when it’s absolutely necessary.

UPDATE: I still think that tab loads much faster with Firefox, or perhaps it’s just my laptop’s sluggish performance.

UPDATE 2: IE8 Beta 1 seems to be quite unstable. It has crashed about 4 times just today when I used it for normal browsing. Let’s hope Microsoft fixes it in the next release.

Where Do You Sit in Class/Seminar?

Now that my university life is officially put on hold for another 9 full weeks, I am hereby free from the clutches of assignments and tests. I will be available for work full-time for unlimited hours, without the 20 hours constraint, thus being able to concentrate on paying off my debts and phone bills (yes, that’s plural. Yes, my phone connection has been suspended).

The big question is, who is hiring me? I am willing to be your photography slave for a really affordable price =P

p.p.s Prayers go out to Hwey and Deng’s grandmother who fell down earlier today and is hospitalised. and also not forgetting their family in this time of despair.
