Tips For Satisfying and Fun Blogging
February 19, 2008 | Filed Under Thoughts
Because I had been absent from work today, I slept until noon today and as usual, I started reading up on my subscribed feeds on my Google Reader, whilst eating the fried rice with egg and banana fritters that my sister-in-law had made for breakfast. A glass of cold Ribena washed down the food and I bet they were happily swimming together in my stomach.
I read Curryegg’s ten “tips on getting ideas instantly for blogging” which she had provided as a guideline when you stumble upon a writer’s block and she had elaborated greatly on her tips.
I find her tip too lengthy and difficult to follow, but I believe Curryegg’s tips can be summed up into one simple, but important tip that many bloggers failed to follow - Live life as per normal.
I may not be the best blogger around, but I would like to share some (general) tips for satisfying and fun blogging:
-
Blog only when you have to
-
Do not make blogging an obligation unless you are obligated to (for money-making bloggers)
and most importantly,
-
Live life as per normal
I highly discourage sitting in front of the blank screen and trying to write up a great post out of nothing. Instead of using that 10 minutes to think of what to write about, why don’t we do something else that is more productive? (Ie. walking your dog, feeding your fish, checking out that hot chick across the road).
I usually give myself a couple of minutes to think about what to write and if nothing comes up, off I go to do my other stuffs =)
Have a great week.

Hey there. I came here through curryegg’s blog.
Its hard not to make an obligation to blog if you were to retain your loyal readers, no?
I try to leave as many witty comments as possible in other people’s blog. As a result, I have something to blog about if i think that the comment i left is an interesting one. So yea… most of my stuff i blog is merely a reply on other blogs.

Blogging is very personal. For me, got things to talk then write. Got money to earn then write.

Hey raymond! Didn’t visit your blog for a long time. How are you there? It’s true. Do not make blogging an obligation unless you are obligated to (for money-making bloggers). Forcing ourselves to blog will only make things worst. You can’t enjoy the joy of blogging, and your reader don’t understand what you’ve blogged. Isn’t that “lose lose” situation.. Lol…
Nice post by the way….
Have a nice day raymond…
