Mr. Brooks Review
January 31, 2008 | Filed Under Movies | 1 Comment
I can’t seem to sleep yet. Not knowing what to do earlier tonight, I joined my brother and his girlfriend to watch Mr. Brooks in the theatre room.

I don’t usually watch movies with them, so it shows how desperate I was to watch this movie. It was partly because I remembered that Mr. Brooks was the movie that michaelooi gave 10/10.. and I can say he’s not wrong on this, because this is one heck of a bloody good psychological thriller.
Not a lot of movie could make you feel as though you are the main character in the movie, but this one managed to do just that, and you don’t really want to be Mr. Brooks, who is a serial killer.
I was almost wishing that it would last much longer although the movie did last for 120 minutes. This is one crazy movie that has its own unique twists and turns, keeping you sit on your seat still, and I love it. Read more reviews at IMDB.
Finding someone you think would be fun to kill is a bit like, well it’s a bit like falling in love. You meet a lot of candidates, and you like some of them, and they’re nice. But they’re not right. And that special one comes along, and your heart beats faster, and you know that’s the one. (Mr. Earl Brooks)
Definitely for Matured Audiences only due to its strong violence, nudity and language. Although it’s not really my genre of movies, it didn’t fail to fascinate me from the beginning to the end. I’d give it a solid 8.5/10.
Yes, I’m fine enough to watch a movie and even blog about it now. And I’m still taking another day off work. Sue me.

I Thought I was Going to Die
January 30, 2008 | Filed Under Rough Times | 2 Comments
It was Friday and I had just finished work at 3.30pm. L’s family asked me to go over their place and go crabbing together, so I said okay. I felt dizzy and nauseous throughout the journey and we caught no crabs.
After dinner, I felt too sick to drive home. I vomited my lungs out after taking two Panadeine. The following morning, L told me my left eye was bleeding. I looked at the mirror and noticed that my eye blood vessel had burst. After googling, I figured it must have been the vomit that caused it.
It was Australia Day. I tried to watch the fireworks with L in Perth, but my body couldn’t take it. I had migraine throughout the day. I felt drowsy. I was weak. My body was aching everywhere. And just a couple of hours before the fireworks, we decided to go home to rest. So we did.
The migraine got worse from then on. It didn’t help with the additional fever or the throat inflammation. From Friday to Monday, L was by my side, taking care of the sick me (Thank you..). I tried to keep myself from dying by taking Panadeine/Nurofen every 4 hours, but they only managed to get rid of the migraine.
At some stage (in the morning, esp.), the migraine was so bad I thought I was going to die. I had taken a couple of days off work, and probably tomorrow as well. My brother rushed me to Royal Perth Hospital yesterday afternoon. After consultation, the emergency doctor concluded that I’ve caught a viral upper respiratory tract infection.
I was asked to keep up with my fluids and to take regular paracetamol and to go back if the symptoms deteriorated.
The last time I have showered or brushed my teeth was Sunday, and it is already Wednesday.
I’m feeling better. The migraine is still there, but it’s milder. My body is still weak, but stronger. I’m out of my fever. I’m glad I’m actually well enough to shower and wash up now, but still wish I can get back to work asap.
Oh, how smelly are my bed and pillows.

Even though I have been lazy with my updates, I was still given a 3/10 PR by Google recently.
Ah, it kind of made me feel bad for not updating regularly.
Hence, updates will resume asap =) Thank you all for coming back regularly and have a great weekend!

Firefox AUS Connection Refused
January 9, 2008 | Filed Under General | 2 Comments
I got home after work today and got the shock of my life (an understatement) when my Firefox browser had problem showing websites. Initially, I thought that my wireless connection was the problem. However, I realised that my MSN was connected and I had no problems browsing using Internet Explorer.
I tried checking for updates from Tools in FF, and the check returned with “AUS Connection Refused”. That was when I started to panic because I cannot imagine going back old school to IE.
Using IE, I googled “Firefox AUS Connection Refused” for the solution and found a forum that suggests Firewall was the culprit of the problem.
With a few clicks on Norton and Windows Firewall Settings with a good reboot of my laptop, the problem was fixed. Now I can enjoy fast and secure Internet browsing once again! =)

Before I’m Dead..
January 8, 2008 | Filed Under Announcement | 1 Comment
Before I am declared “dead” from the blogosphere, let me just make a quick little update here to prevent unnecessary assumptions.
Yeap, I’m still alive and kicking. I have been busy with work and my personal life, totally absent from the virtual world. My laptop hasn’t been turned off for a while now, with my MSN status set as “away” since 6 days ago.
I’m having so much fun, really, going out and just taking a break off everything except for work. I took time off work today and went crabbing with *L when she made an impromptu decision to have crabs for dinner. We caught ~50 crabs and ate more than half of it with her family.
I’ve been working for more than a month, but I’ve yet to really reap the fruits of my labour. ALL my pay have been used to pay off my phone bills and etc, and now that I’ve finished paying off most debts, it’s almost time for a small little trip soon. Before L’s school commences, we are planning to go for a little trip down Monkey Mia, about 850km north of Perth.
Lets just hope I won’t be too lazy to work now. Everything is going just great, and I want to keep it the way it is until uni starts. That is probably when blogging resumes.
*L will be used to refer to my girlfriend from now onwards
