How Would You Like to be Remembered?
November 25, 2007 | Filed Under Thoughts
I was going through Xanga’s Featured Questions a while back and I couldn’t help but notice a question that was posed by a blogger - How Would You Like to be Remembered?
Although the question may be open-ended, I’ll just improvise the question and ask, “When You Die, How Would You Like to be Remembered?”
It may be a pretty taboo question to be discussed, but it is still something that is worth pondering about. How would you want people to remember you? What would you want to see engraved on your plaque/tombstone when you die? What are your attributes that you would like people to think about when you’re mentioned?
Everyone wishes to make a difference. At least, the ones that I know of. I want to make a difference. I want to let people remember Raymond Chan as the person that changed their lives, that they are not who they are if not for the person called Raymond Chan. This sounds pretty selfish and arrogant, but when you think about it, I’m sure you would think that it’s just something that everyone wishes to achieve in life. To make a difference.
So what am I doing to make a difference today? To be honest, I don’t know. Maybe I’m doing it subconsciously, maybe not. Maybe it’s the way I try to be the most level-headed one of the people around me whenever there is difficulties, or maybe not. Maybe in some other ways.
I guess at the end of the day, the best way to put the question is, “What are You Doing Today to Make an Impact in Others’ Lives When You Die?” So many questions, and yet these questions are often left unanswered, even till the day we die.
This is what I want written on the plaque when I die. Raymond Chan - The Person Who Tried to Make a Difference. 1988 - 20??
What about you?
