One Month

October 30, 2007 | Filed Under Photography | 8 Comments

It’s been a month since I held the DSLR. I finally took the trouble to reserve and get the camera from uni so that I can use it for my final portfolio for my Photography unit.

I’m going for a photoshoot tonight! My theme would be of the darker, quieter, mysterious side of the city at night, so it’s going to be a challenge.

Anyway, my first shot after a month-long break from Photography.

My Birthday

October 29, 2007 | Filed Under Announcement, Rough Times | 10 Comments

..is next Sunday.

Why do I keep feeling that I won’t be having a great birthday again? I read back on My 18th Birthday and I thought last year was pathetic enough.

I don’t want to repeat the same thing I did last year. Give me a break.

I need a little love. Please tell me you love me :(

As of NOW, 0200 of 28th Oct, Perth’s time will be an hour FASTER (or should it be 0300?).

It’s UTC/GMT +9.

Great. An hour less of sleep.

Did You Know..

October 27, 2007 | Filed Under General | 2 Comments

..that Raymond Chan loves spring? No, I don’t mean the “metal elastic device that returns to its shape or position when pushed or pulled or pressed”. I mean the spring in the four seasons. He loves spring so much that he had decided to write up an entry dedicated to spring itself, in response to another blogger’s hatred towards the season.

Do you like spring?

..that I had recently read somewhere that if a person does not have enough sleep at night, the next day, the person will usually be more emotional, which is not good at all. Say, a person who did not get enough sleep can laugh at a joke which is told twice, too. Of course, if it’s viewed in a positive light, it is not that bad after all. But imagine yourself being hyper-sensitive to everything around you. You become vulnerable to being unhappy.

So please do sleep earlier people. You don’t want to end up like Raymond Chan :P

..that the moon was extremely large and round tonight at around 7pm. It seemed from my house that it was so near to Earth that I initially thought that the moon was some random huge planet that I discovered.

..that I had applied for a job as a croupier in Burswood Casino a few weeks ago (probably a month), and in the comments section, I said that I wouldn’t mind working in the restaurants as well. After so many weeks, I did not get any reply from them until today. I cannot show the email that I had received because it is against their policy, but we’re looking at Food & Beverage attendant role in Burswood. They had just requested for my resume, so if all goes all.. If all goes well.

Have a great weekend =)

Raymond Chan’s Special Tom Yum Fried Rice

October 27, 2007 | Filed Under General | 5 Comments

This is a non-halal entry, so this may offend certain religious practices.

Wakaka. This is my first recipe. Sort of, anyway. Today’s recipe is Raymond Chan’s Special Tom Yum Fried Rice (with Spiced Pork Cubes) ;)
I like the names long. Makes it sound all the more delicious. hehe.

Lets look at our ingredients tonight

Ingredients

We have a can of Spiced Pork Cubes, an egg and a Tom Yum cube. The Pork Cubes isn’t a must, of course, but adding some meat (maybe chicken pieces) would enhance the flavour of the fried rice ;)

Also, I would suggest using Tom Yum paste if you have it, but the cube one is good enough. Lets not forget the rice too. Overnight rice, please. Freshly cooked rice is too “wet” to be made fried rice.

If you haven’t noticed, I don’t have garlic in my list of ingredients, but if you’re a garlic lover, feel free to chop up some garlic for the taste.
Instructions:Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

  1. Heat pan/wok until it’s hot and add oil (just a teaspoon for pan, more for wok). I used a pan.
  2. Throw the rice into the pan/wok. Not throw literally, but spread the rice nicely. If you have chopped garlics ready, fry the garlics first before putting the rice into the wok.
  3. Crush the Tom Yum cube into the wok and spread evenly.
  4. After a while, maybe 30 seconds, spread the rice to the side so that there is a “hole” in the middle of the wok.
  5. Add some oil in the middle and crack the egg into the “hole”. Wait for the egg to cook.
  6. When cooked, cut it to pieces and mix them around with the rice.
  7. Add pepper/salt for flavour.
  8. Open the can of Pork Cubes or Chicken pieces and shove them into the wok :P
  9. Sliced chicken pieces cook very quickly. Canned pork cubes are cooked. heh
  10. Serve, and enjoy.

Was a little too oily though. Forgot that there are already oil in the canned pork cubes.
